The old known rocket base located on Devinska Kobyla was this time the goal of our trip. Base objects that are currently in a desolate state are still easily accessible even though the main gate seems to be locked as if no one had come here. However, with caution, all of the complexes can be explored. This base was built between 1979 and 1983 as an anti-aircraft rocket base. It was the 186th Missile Brigade of the Czechoslovak People's Army, whose task was to protect the airspace over Bratislava. The armament base was 16 anti-aircraft missiles type S-125 M Neva, which was concealed in the large reinforced concrete bunkers. At the base, there were 20 objects in total, and the total crew consisted of 140 soldiers. According to some unverified information, even rockets capable of carrying nuclear warheads were here. But whether these heads really were, we probably do not know today. The base area was still guarded until 2000, but as it was no longer fulfilled, it was later declared superfluous.
